3-DAY SEMINAR DMX Control for the Lighting Programmer & Set Lighting Technician with Chris Cotone

Join us December 17th–19th for a three - day workshop, "DMX Control for the Lighting Programmer & Set Lighting Technician," with Lighting Programmers Chris Cotone and Rob Russell. See below for course details. Class times for all days will be 10:00 AM- 4:00 PM.

Day One:
The "DMX Control for the Lighting Programmer & Set Lighting Technician" course provides attendees with a comprehensive understanding of using DMX for television shows and feature films. Day one is structured to progressively build skills, starting from the basics of handling DMX cables and troubleshooting tools to grasping fundamental DMX concepts.

Day Two:
Rigging Programmer teaches attendees how to effectively lay out a lighting control system and communicate system requirements to the rigging crew. This involves patching the console, designing the networking system, generating all relative supporting documents and light plots, facilitating the installation of the entire lighting control system, and testing its functionality prior to the 1st unit arriving on set to shoot. Day  two is a direct, hands-on experience of learning the skills needed to work as a rigging programmer on film and television projects. The goal of the class is to teach students everything they need to know to be a rigging programmer and also gives attendees a taste of the pressure that the rigging programmer and set lighting technicians experience prior to a typical filming day.

Day Three:

Introduction to Wireless DMX will give participants an in-depth look into the history of wireless technology, how wireless technology works, specific use cases, and practical applications. The objective of  Day three is to learn the core concepts of wireless communication and how these can be used most effectively and with the least potential for failure on set when utilizing wireless DMX systems. This is a direct, hands-on experience of learning the skills needed to setup and maintain wireless DMX networks.
